Cuckoo Collective is our professional and creative development programme for emerging artists interested in working in the Performance for Young Audiences (PYA) sector. The training is provided free of charge, with funded bursaries to cover the time of artists from systemically marginalised communities under-represented in PYA.
We’ve opened the training programme for three years running in varied formats: a face to face intensive focussed on music theatre devising, performance & facilitation skills; a hybrid online/real-life programme encompassing these creative skills alongside creative leadership and producing skills, encouraging artists to seek creative leadership roles; and a paid production placement for Associate Artists developing their skills in creative leadership roles within a supportive professional ensemble process.
